If you’re a Christian working in the games industry, the Aeternus Games Summit is an event you won’t want to miss. Named after the Latin word aeternus, meaning “eternal,” this one-day gathering is designed to encourage and equip game developers, artists, designers, writers, producers, and other industry professionals through fellowship, prayer, and meaningful conversations about faith and game development.
It runs Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Evergreen Los Angeles — 2045 S Barrington Ave, in the Sawtelle neighborhood. Tickets are $25, or $12.50 for students and recent graduates, and lunch is included.
What the day looks like
The schedule opens with registration and worship, then moves through a full slate of talks and panels. Neel Upadhye (Giant Skull, EA) preaches from Romans 12 on “The Artist’s Sacrifice: A Vision for Christian Wellness in an Age of Uncertainty.” A panel on “AI & the Imago Dei” takes up the ethics and theology of AI in creative work — not whether to use these tools, but how and why. After lunch, “Identity in Christ: The Ultimate Avatar” examines the pull to define ourselves by our credits, and “Patch Notes from the Next Generation” brings Gen Z creators into a conversation about content strategy and the Roblox ecosystem. The day closes with “Being the Light in the Game Industry,” a panel and Q&A on reflecting Christ at a studio, freelancing, or between jobs.
Who’s speaking
The roster draws deep industry experience: a senior designer from Insomniac Games, an Emmy-winning creative director whose credits span Riot, Blizzard, HBO, and NBCUniversal, an audio director from Uncharted and The Last of Us, a lead production designer from Epic Games and the Battlefield franchise, and sound and systems designers from Warner Bros., Disney, 2K, and LucasArts. Familiar names to Exile readers include Chris Skaggs, founder of Soma Games and the Imladris Community.

This is an in-person gathering only, and the sessions aren’t being recorded — the organizers want people free to speak openly. Registrations are reviewed individually; the summit is built for believers, though seekers are warmly welcomed.
