What GDC is, and why it matters

The Game Developers Conference has been the industry’s central nervous system since 1988. Every March, roughly 28,000 developers, publishers, journalists, and students descend on the Moscone Center for a week of talks, post-mortems, roundtables, and the expo floor — plus the Independent Games Festival and the Game Developers Choice Awards, both held during the conference. If you work in games or want to, this is where the conversations that shape the next year happen.

Finding the Christian presence

Christian developers have historically clustered around the Christian Game Developers Conference (CGDC) gathering that happens adjacent to GDC, plus informal meetups throughout the week organized through networks like the Imladris community. If you’re attending as a believer in the industry — or curious about it — reach out on social ahead of time; the quiet in-person conversations at GDC often matter more than any single session you could sit through.
